JR Automation Receives Supplier of the Year Award from General Motors

Holland, MI – June 29, 2021 – JR Automation, a leading global systems integrator and wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501), is pleased to announce that they have been selected for the 2020 Overdrive Award from General Motors, as part of their 29th Annual Supplier of the Year Awards. This award comes to the Esys division as a result of the medical mask line that our team deployed in just six days in March of last year.

Each year, General Motors (GM) names their “Suppliers of the Year,” which includes companies that exceed their expectations as a supplier. In 2012, they introduced an even higher form of recognition: the Overdrive Award. This award is “a distinction reserved for suppliers who display outstanding achievement within the Global Purchasing and Supply Chain organization’s key priorities, including sustainable value streams, total enterprise cost and profitability, safety, launch excellence, accelerating innovation and nurturing relationships.” Recipients of the Supplier of the Year award include 122 suppliers representing 16 countries, with more than a dozen first-time winners. Additionally, 26 companies representing eight countries earned GM’s coveted Overdrive Award.
