JR AUTOMATION DONATES MATERIALS FOLLOWING PURCHASE OF FORMER KANDU INDUSTRIES BUILDING

JR Automation has partnered with International Aid and Hope Network to donate assets and materials acquired as part of the former Kandu Industries building purchase. JR Automation officially acquired the Sunnyside Drive facility on August 17th, 2016.

Five skids worth of emergency bandages were donated to International Aid and office furniture was donated to Hope Network for use at their new Holland location.

According to Joe Haveman of Hope Network, “We are so thrilled with the donation from JR Automation. This further solidifies the partnership we’ve formed in Ottawa County. With the new focus on encouraging clients to integrate into the community, this equipment will only enhance our work skills training. We are thankful to so many people who have stepped up to make this project possible. JR Automation’s contribution represents a key component to our client’s successes.”

The donation comes at a particularly opportune time for Hope Network. The organization recently purchased a 26,000-square-foot building at 11172 Adams Street in Holland to launch a new work employment skills program. Dubbed, “The Development Center,” this work employment skills program will provide opportunities for developmentally disabled adults who reside in the Ottawa and Allegan county areas to obtain employable skills and, ultimately, steady employment by providing a wide range of services, including: Career Exploration/Planning, Skill Development, and Community Integration.

Through the Development Center, developmentally disabled adults in Ottawa and Allegan counties will be able to increase or maintain self-sufficiency and achieve their individual vocational goals. The Development Center will have the capacity to serve 50 developmentally disabled individuals annually within the facility as well as additional clients in outside enclaves. Some of the individuals who may be seeking services through The Development Center were previously served by Kandu Industries.

“We are pleased to support Hope Network and International Aid with these donations,” says JR Automation CEO Bryan Jones. “We are deeply invested in our community are honored to contribute to these worthy organizations.”
